Recent activity:
Our researches focus on understanding the impacts of human disturbances on the biodiversity of dry grassland ecosystems, which are recognized as hot-spots of biodiversity in European landscapes. The results of our studies are applied to the ecological restoration of these endangered ecosystems. Our past researches have concerned the chalk grasslands of north western France (Upper-Normandy), where we studied the impacts of former human land uses (sheep grazing, cultivation) on the present day vegetation and soil macrofaunal communities. To complete, our current research focuses on the roles of the surrounding landscape on the colonization by plants and animals (insects) of fallow lands and cereal fields, which are in contact with patches of old natural grasslands in the steppic area of La Crau and the Luberon mountains (south eastern France).
